With its modern, purpose-built facility in Montpellier, France, which recently saw additional significant investment in refurbishment and upgrade capabilities, Vallair has focused its aircraft MRO and paint services on the ATR, A320 and B737 aircraft types (all series), including the BBJ and ACJ. Flexible working patterns, with full “back-shop” support, ensure efficient and competitive turn-around-times for both routine and AOG inputs.
Maintenance inputs handled range from basic line support through to “D” check type maintenance. The Vallair team in Montpellier is also experienced in major repairs, skin changes and frame changes (such as frame 16 and 18 on the A320), as well as cockpit window frames, which can generally be performed under twelve days. The facility is both EASA and FAA approved, and holds several other regulatory approvals from around the world.
For composite repairs, minor operations can be carried out at the Montpellier facility, generally while the aircraft is undergoing maintenance. Any larger repairs would typically be transferred to Vallair’s Aerostructures Business Unit in Chateauroux, France, where capabilities cover components such as nacelles, flaps, spoilers, rudders, or thrust reversers.
Through our DOA partner, Vallair’s modification and reconfiguration activity is an ideal complement to our parking, storage and lease transition activities, with the ability to contain all LOPA, re-branding and associated activity in-house and under a single project team. Significant ramp space adjacent to the hangar enhances our ability to work multiple aircraft in parallel for this activity if required.
Vallair’s PART 21 DOA partners provide new LOPA’s and SB’s as well as a highly skilled workforce and efficient workshop capabilities in Montpellier, France. With these partners, Vallair is able to offer total care support with minimum ground times and a high-quality product to meet your most demanding requirements of cabin reconfiguration.
Other modifications on which we have vast experience include In Seat Power Supply System, (ISPSS), WiFi, and Satcom.
In addition to standard reconfiguration activity, Vallair is also able to carry out complete cabin refurbishment using OEM paint and coverings, carpet and tedlar replacements. On the paint front, Vallair’s dedicated paint facility, accommodating aircraft up to the A321 with sharklets in size, is adjacent to the MRO facility in Montpellier, and can be used for either stand-alone paint work scopes, or in conjunction with a maintenance or modification input.
Skilled in the application of all paint types and finishes, the facility is also backed up by its own in-house graphics department, which can be used either to support aircraft in Vallair’s facilities, or third-party customers at other facilities. The graphics department can also produce high-quality vinyl for short-term livery such as special flights and advertising.
Recent significant investment in lighting, air handling and paint application tooling ensures high-quality finish with competitive lead times, while exceeding the standards set by current legislation on emissions and particulates within the environment.
Flexible multi-shift working patterns, working 7 days per week, contributes to the competitive lead times offered to customers, such as 6.5 days for an A320 in high solid paint and clear coat, including wings.
Finally, Vallair’s facility in Montpellier offers a dedicated parking and storage area (20+ aircraft) within a secure airport environment. With an average of 222 days of sun per year, Montpellier is ideal for parking and storage of aircraft. In addition to the parking area, office space and record storage can also be accommodated within the hangar complex. Montpellier airport (MPL) is easily accessible from all major European cities and even further afield via Paris. Access to aircraft for any inspections is quickly arranged.
For longer term storage, including for aircraft that may ultimately be parted out, Vallair’s other operation in Chateauroux also offers parking capacity, as well as teardown capability in accordance with AFRA regulations and standards.
