Technical Project Engineer

Key Objectives:

The Technical Project Engineer will support the technical operations of business, reporting to the Project Manager and or Technical Director in support of the Technical team;

Job Description:

Support the Project Manager and on-going projects in the day-to-day activities.

  • Successfully collaborate on the review of project results, relevant documents and reports.
  • To identify problems, recommend and track progress on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate activities with internal teams and customers.
  • Management of “light” projects and sub-projects as directed by Project Manager or Technical Director.
  • Set up (assist to set-up) and maintain project files;
  • Establish (assist to establish) document control procedures;
  • Collect actual data and forecasts;
  • Update plans;
  • Administer or assist the quality review process;
  • Administer or assist project board meetings;
  • Assist with the compilation of reports;
  • Contribute expertise in specialist tools and techniques (e.g. planning and control tools, risk analysis) including tailoring recommendations suited to the project’s situation;
  • Maintain the following records
  • quality register;
  • config item records (if used);
  • any other register/logs delegated by the Project Manager;
  • Technical summary of lease contracts: delivery conditions, re-delivery conditions, lease period requirements, MRs qualified events;
  • Maintenance forecast for leased assets during lease period, MRs qualified events, events affecting asset value;
  • Forecast of leased asset technical condition and value at re-delivery;
  • Management of deliveries and re-deliveries: controlling compliance with lease agreements in terms of tech spec, budget and time in coordination with the team;
  • Pre-lease inspections and mid/annual lease inspections of Lessees;
  • Coordination with Lessees and support to Lessees;
  • Will be point of coordination with sub-contractors.

Candidate Requirements:

Engineering degree or an alternative technical qualification with a minimum of 5 years work experience in long term maintenance projects, airline, MRO or consultancy organisation;

  1. Leadership experience;
  2. Experience in managing projects remotely;
  3. Experience in managing heavy maintenance;
  4. Cost control experience;
  5. Leasing business experience is an advantage;
  6. A320 family experience is essential;
  7. B737 family types knowledge is an advantage;
  8. P2F process knowledge is an advantage;
  9. Knowledge and understanding of current continued airworthiness requirements together with the ability to analyse and interpret EASA and FAA regulations to ensure compliance with;
  10. A team player with the ability to write concise, well-structured reports containing reasoned sustained argument using adequately weighted evidence in response to specific questions. Reports should be clear, coherent and grammatically correct
  11. Ability to work autonomously and use initiative to seek solutions when required, offering added value to the team
  12. Strong knowledge of current software and MS Office package
  13. Ability to adapt to quickly changed project conditions
  14. Decision making skills
