The Technical Project Manager is accountable to the Technical Director and Project Board, he or she has the authority to run the Project on a day-to-day basis, within constraints laid down.

The Technical Project Manager’s prime responsibility is to ensure that the Project produces the required products within the specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, benefits and risks. Project Management also requires working time flexibility, travels and remote work.

He or she leads and coordinates Project team when performing technical management of company projects/assets, assessment of conversion and trading candidate aircraft/assets. The Project Management function delivers Project, provides technical management liaison with Suppliers and Customers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Complete Project lifecycle management from technical perspective from acquisition of major asset like an aircraft, engines, LGs, its maintenance and operation until Delivery
  • Set-up, managing and follow-up team of on-site managers, representatives, other Suppliers, internal project teams as necessary to deliver Project as per defined Specification and contractual obligations like borescope inspections, avionics modifications, MRO activity, paint, movement of assets, records, CAMO, OEM etc including contracts negotiation, performance analysis, work packages definition etc
  • Be primary technical point of contact for Project and Customer
  • Manage Conversion or Trading of prospected aircraft and assets from airworthiness, records, systems, structural, powerplant and technical contractual perspectives to meet mandatory requirements, company standards and delivery conditions
  • Each aircraft will be followed as individual projects from introduction to delivery and further on as required
  • Reporting to Technical Director and Project Board
  • Appointing and managing Project team, setting-up targets for Project Team
  • Providing Project exceptions
  • Selecting, forecasting and managing Suppliers
  • Following and controlling Project budget, timescale, scope, quality and other constraints laid down by Technical Director and Project Board
  • Pre-purchase inspections of Aircraft/Engine and other assets
  • Follow up with Customer management
  • Requesting and validating work packages, MRF/SRF, POs requests for various technical tasks, including cost/time impact assessment
  • Issuing, validating and reporting changes in asset specification
  • Follow up of company procedures such as MRF/SRF, OIL, PO request, checkpoint report etc
  • Meeting targets and KPIs set up by Technical Director and Project Board
  • Substituting On-Site Manager in case of his/her absence

Requested Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position in aircraft/engines acquisition, sales, lease deliveries and re-deliveries of B737/A320FAM/CFM56/V2500 etc
  • At least 5 years’ experience in aviation maintenance/airworthiness departments
  • Knowledge of EASA and FAA regulations. Other regulations are welcome
  • Knowledge of OEM and third-party documentation such as Airbus/Boeing MPD, SIL etc
  • Basic knowledge of B737/A320FAM/CFM56/V2500 design, operation and maintenance (e.g. GenFam course)
  • Passenger-to-freighter conversion experience is desirable
  • Good knowledge of MS Office package
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good cost control skills (e.g. Basics of Accounting, PnL etc)
  • Excellent project management skills (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner)
  • Good negotiations skills
  • Multicultural working experience
  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply regulatory requirements and workplace agreements
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexibility and ability to work under time pressure
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
